Our Story

image.png

Jacki and Andrew first crossed paths beneath a sky full of stars on the night of May 7, 2018 — a moment that felt less like chance and more like destiny, even if it also involved a mug and two lightning cables. Wrapped in starlight and quiet wonder, something extraordinary began to unfold. Since then, their love has grown like a story written across time — filled with laughter, spontaneous adventures, and one too many indulgent meals shared side by side. Together, they’ve wandered through quiet getaways and faraway corners of the world, collecting memories like postcards, each journey bringing them closer. Now, they’re overjoyed to gather their favourite people in the place they hold dearest — Tokyo — to celebrate a love story that began under the stars, and to share a day that promises to be just as magical.

FAQ

Where should I stay?

The closest train station to the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay is Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line. For the smoothest travel experience, we suggest staying near a station along the JR Keiyo Line - this will let you reach Maihama Station without any transfers.  If your hotel isn’t directly on the JR Keiyo Line, any location connected to Tokyo Station will still work well, as the JR Keiyo Line is easily accessible from there. However, even if you’re comfortable navigating Tokyo’s train system, we recommend limiting line transfers to just one to make your journey smoother - especially if you’re travelling in formal wear or carrying luggage.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 14:00, so please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled. If you happen to arrive ahead of time, there will be a waiting area available where you can relax until the ceremony begins. We kindly ask everyone to arrive on time, as doors will close once the ceremony starts.

How do I get to the ceremony?

If you're taking public transit, we recommend the following route: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Keiyo Line towards Soga. Get off at Maihama Station - the ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Maihama Station, it's best to take an Uber taxi - the simplest option - which is about a 5-minute ride from Maihama Station to the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay. If you plan to drive to the ceremony (and/or the reception), please let us know in advance, as we’d like to help coordinate parking arrangements with the venue.

Can I bring a drink to the ceremony?

We kindly ask that guests do not bring beverages of any kind into the ceremony, including water, as drinks are not permitted inside the venue. If you have your own beverage, you’re welcome to enjoy it before the ceremony on the terrace of the waiting area or outside the waiting area building.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Private transportation for all guests from the ceremony to the reception will be provided.

Is there a dress code?

We kindly ask that guests attend in formal attire. Suits and ties for men and cocktail or evening dresses for women are perfect. Feel dressed for a celebration. If you wish to complement the warm, natural setting of our ceremony, we invite you to consider wearing earthy, elegant tones such as eucalyptus green, warm sand, or champagne. These hues harmonize beautifully with the chapel’s wooden architecture and the surrounding greenery.

Do you have a gift registry?

Your presence means the world to us, and we’re so grateful to celebrate with you. Should you wish to give a gift, a monetary gesture would be warmly appreciated as we begin this next chapter together.

What kind of food will be served?

Dinner will feature a French course menu crafted by Chef Nakaune Michiya, Executive Chef of the InterContinental Tokyo Bay and recipient of the French Ordre du Mérite Agricole. Celebrated for his mastery of classic French cuisine and exquisite sauce work, Chef Nakaune presents a menu that reflects seasonal Japanese ingredients through refined French artistry. Children’s meals will also be provided, with a menu designed to be both fun and delicious.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes - we wouldn’t invite you to celebrate without one!

Will there be an afterparty?

Most likely yes! We’re still figuring out where it’ll happen - it’s safe to assume the night won’t end when the reception does.

What should I do if I can no longer attend?

If you’re unable to attend, please contact us directly as soon as possible to let us know. This will help us finalize our guest count and seating arrangements.

How long will we be in Japan post-wedding?

We’ll be sticking around for a few days after the wedding. Let’s just say there’s something special happening starting on the morning of March 24 that we’d love for you to join if you’re still in town. We can’t spill the details just yet, but it’ll be a magical way to keep the celebration going.

What's the weather in Tokyo like in March?

From mid to late March, Tokyo typically enjoys mild spring weather with daytime highs around 10–15 °C and cooler evenings around 5–8 °C . You can expect a mix of sunny and partly cloudy days, with occasional light rain, as March marks the transition from winter to spring.
